Maria Christina Rose, Manager for Customer Support at Wallapop, explains her opinion as a student of the Global MBA and the Master in Project Management at OBS.
Christina shares with us her experience with the programme's online methodology: "I’m a mother and is really important for me to try and find the balance between with work, private life, and continuous training. The benefits of having OBS online is that I can combine those three worlds and do it really well. I can be putting my son to sleep while listening to a webinar that my teacher has given to me, and I can do the homework or the work together with my colleagues on the weekends".
Why did you decide to study this Master's degree?
I chose the Global MBA because I was in a point of my career that I really wanted to ascend and have more responsibilities. So, the fact of doing it on OBS, of being online, was a great advantage for me because I was a mother and I had to combine the 2 worlds of working 40 hours, doing extras, and be with my family. And I did at the end of the master, give me the extra visibility within the company and those extra tricks to really do a good job.
Why did you choose to study it at OBS Business School?
One of the main reasons I decided to do it on Online Business School was because it’s online. As I mentioned before, I’m a mother and is really important for me to try and find the balance between with work, private life, and continuous training. It’s not that I didn’t want to go physically, but it was a big handicap for me. The benefits of having OBS online is that I can combine those three worlds and do it really well. I can be putting my son to sleep while listening to a webinar that my teacher has given to me, and I can do the homework or the work together with my colleagues on the weekends. I’m not restricted by having face-to-face study time and I can really adapt it and go on holiday, I can go somewhere else, and it really is a plus have it online.
What benefits does the online methodology has for you?
The benefits mainly are availability, have it when I want, and as I said it before, balance. Just find that balance between my work and continuing training.
What skills have you developed throughout the programme?
I think one of the main abilities that I have gained is not only having more information of how to do a better job as a manager or within where I work, is also about learning about new people or how I am more open to different cultures. Because OBS is not only based in Spain, it’s all over the world. And it was absolutely brilliant to get to know those other cultures and have a wider scope of what’s around us.
How has your experience been at OBS?
The experience it’s been really positive. In my first master I’m still in contact with a couple of colleagues. We still have their WhatsApp available and open, and when we have any kind of big news, for example I became a mother a second time, I shared that information. Another colleague became a parent and so we do continue talking. And there are some people that I keep on my network like LinkedIn, and if there is any kind of changes or updates of masters, or any kind of courses we do share that between ourselves to keep us in the loop of what’s going on.
How do you imagine your professional future after your programme?
Even though I’ve finished a second program, my future is to continue learning. It’s not to stay where I am, it’s not to stop, it’s to continue to seeing if there’s anything else that could help me improve who I am and how I work with the people. I’ll be keeping my eyes open to see if there’s any new programs that might be interesting to me in OBS soon.
What would you say to a person considering studying at OBS?
One of the first things I would say is have a look at all of the programmes, see which one fits you best and ask. Shout out to anyone on LinkedIn who’s gone to OBS, see if they’re available to give you tips, guides, feedback, etc. I myself I’m available if you want to look me up and I can give you excellent feedback of how my experience was during this time at OBS.
