Nadiezhda Castro, Consumer Research Leader & Category SR Manager, shares her experience as a student of the Master in Management Coaching and Leadership at OBS.
"I like to share what a great learning experience it has been for me, not only because of the academic part and the important subject such as coaching, but also because of the way it has helped me to break down barriers of distance, technology and has led me to understand that the world is changing in a radical way in all senses.
What would you say to a person considering studying at OBS?
My recommendation for those who have a limited amount of time to study a master is to first make an important effort and take a look at the alternatives that are available today such as OBS. OBS has a very interesting and flexible platform that will make it possible for you to study a master.
How has your experience been with your classmates?
One of the great benefits that has also been a huge gift for me is that OBS has not only opened up my professional horizons and provided me with a very powerful training for my future, but it has also connected me with new people both from other countries and here in Mexico, who without a doubt have become part of my network,my friends' network as well and have enriched my point of view, values and ideas in general... so it has truly been a very pleasant experience.
Why did you decide to study this Master's degree?
Well, what inspired me to study a master is the fact that I became aware of the importace to be up to date, the world is changing and I think that taking an online master also gave me the advantage of breaking paradigms about distance and technology.
Why did you choose to study it at OBS?
When I was considering wether to enroll on my second master, I thought about schools that were face-to-face here in Mexico, however I had heard about a very complete programme at OBS, which is an online master with recognition from the University of Barcelona. I was interested mainly because of their methodology because of the technology that supported this programme and because I was interested to meet people from other countries.
How do you balance your personal and professional life?
Nowadays balancing life is always going to be a challenge, trying to perfectly combine work and professional life is always an extra effort. However, for me, education and continuous training are part of the future and that is where I put my focus. Personally, what I do is try to have as precise a schedule as possible and flow with it. OBS is an excellent tool to be able to combine this and it can certainly fit into any of the busy lives we all have nowadays.
What do you think education will be like in the 22nd century?
For me, the twenty-second century education is just beginning. The best example is bridging distances and breaking technological paradigms. It seems to me that it is going to be a 100% virtual education in which our grandchildren will most probably be learning from gurus on the other side of the world. It is a good start to be able to tell you about an online master and all the paradigms that can be broken with it.
What are your plans after finishing your Master?
It is interesting to talk about the future after the master I am currently studying. I have many plans ahead of me, I have a consultancy in mind, of course I want to continue growing in the company I belong to, also continue leading great teams... I think this master has opened me up to the infinite spectrum of things that can be done as a professional and I think the best is yet to come.
Have you thought about continuing your training when you finish your Master?
After this master I will undoubtedly enjoy all it's benefits, all the knowledge I have acquired; but the commitment is so strong with my development and with the contribution to Mexican society that I will undoubtedly return to study.
