1. Globalization, strategy and best practices in operations

Economic globalization is causing major changes in the international division of labor, in the geographical distribution of economic activity and in business strategies, and new "rules of the game" are emerging. In this first course, the current globalization process will be analyzed from the triple aspect: commercial, financial and productive, its short and medium-term effects, and the future challenges that arise. At the same time, the short and medium term scenarios that configure a dynamic map of new opportunities and international business areas will be drawn.

Professor: Flor Gastey, Co-Founder & Business Development Manager at Depique Marketplace.

Traditionally, the term Operations has been associated with short-term programs whose efforts are mainly aimed at reducing the company's costs and/or improving the quality of the products or services supplied. This module aims to break with this paradigm and reflect on the importance of designing, deploying and implementing a formalized strategy throughout the supply chain, aligned with the company's strategy, in order to guide the decisions that will lead the company to best meet the challenges of the global economy discussed in the first module, and to develop its sustainable competitive advantage based on Operations supported by its winning factors.

Professor: José Manuel Santamans, Business Development & Marketing Manager in INNdux.

This course presents the Supply Chain Management model understood as the design and interconnection of organizations, processes and systems throughout the supply chain, from suppliers, through manufacturing and internal logistics, to the global distribution of the product to the customer. This course offers a transversal vision of the entire supply chain where the mission of Operations Management will be: the design of a supply chain coherent with the company's strategy and in particular with the Operations strategy, as well as the leadership and alignment between the different actors that contribute to the success of the supply chain.

Professor: Ralph Michaud, Chief Executive Officer at Plus Vitae.

2. Innovation and new challenges in operations

This module presents in a direct and practical way the principals of innovation and the type of culture that makes its acquisition possible. Students will be introduced to the Design Thinking Methodology (which will be studied in greater depth in a subsequent bootcamp) and to some great Agile-related systems that will facilitate the implementation of an innovative culture. In this subject, students will also learn about the different aspects that must be considered to create something truly innovative; technolgy, usability, practicality...

Professor: Mario Sorribas Fierro, Consultant and trainer specialized in Design Thinking, Marketing and Communication and Business Storytelling.

The complex global environment in which businesses currently operate forces them to constantly address new challenges and requires them to undergo continuous adaptation, change and transformation. Therefore, companies must rethink their business model, the way companies interact with each other, how they relate to their employees and, of course, the style of management and culture that prevails in our organisations, in order to ensure sustainability.
Companies should also reflect on the fact that they are not just offering value to their customers, but reliable value, meaning value that involves committing to a certain level of service regardless of the circumstances, in order to build resilience.
Furthermore, it is important to consider that companies do not exist in isolation, they operate in a global environment in which one of the key factors for a positive approach is to respect it. The business model must be sustainable by satisfying the needs of current generations, without affecting the capacity of future generations, and in operational terms, ensuring economic and social progress while respecting the environment.

On this module we will address two challenges that Operations Departments must deal with: sustainability and resilience.
Supply chains are essential for the development of any company's economic activity, hence the importance of building resilient business models capable of being sustained and maintained over time.
Responsible supply chain management provides companies with numerous business opportunities, from greater efficiency in their processes to a better adaptation and preparation for any future crises that may arise, making them resilient.
Corporate values and commitment to sustainability need to be transferred to suppliers, especially as some of the greatest opportunities for environmental and social impact lie in the supply chain.

Professor: Rafael Richart, Milk Collection Manager Spain at Danone

The new scenarios of the global economy presented in the first course come with new needs and challenges in international and last mile distribution. This has led many companies to decide to outsource parts of the company's logistics activity. In this module, students will learn about logistics outsourcing and more specifically the entry into the market of global logistics operators, which are changing the basis of international logistics as we know it.

Professor: Sergio Aparicio, Deputy Managing Director-Business Development & Strategy at TVS scs.

3. Strategic synergies of Operations with the main corporate areas

Talent management is a challenge that requires new competencies, skills and the acquisition of knowledge aligned with the conditions that this globalized, uncertain and ever-changing paradigm demands. In this module students will learn about human resources management, strategic governance and what characteristics must a COO have, among many other things.

Professor: Carmelo Sierra, Director at Sierra-Consulting "From Reflection to Result".

This subject offers a strategic vision of business demand to students and focuses on the interrelation between this area and other essential company departments such as Marketing and Distribution. The general objective of this subject is to optimize the Demand according to the customer's wishes, the business sales channels, the marketing strategy, and the strategy of the distribution network.

Professor: Jordi Dalmau, North Zone Director at Endesa Ingeniería.

In the last twenty years, technology has drastically changed the way companies operate; now, the so-called Industry 4.0 is expected to play an essential role in shaping the value chains of the future. In this module, students will be introduced to technologies that provide complete visibility of operation processes and learn about tools that enable the development of new highly collaborative and automated business models.

Professor: Sajid Abad, Managing Director at Praiker.

Through the simulator The Fresh Connection, students will strenghten their decision-making skills by facing different obstacles in a high-pressure environment. You will also familiarize with various dilemmas related to supply chain management in order to find out the best Return on Investment (ROI) for the business.

Professor: José Baena Naranjo, Production System Manager, Continuous Improvement at Kostal Eléctrica.

Master's Final Project and Additional Activities

This is a practical program designed to complement the content of the thematic blocks to achieve their internalization. These activities are conceived from a triple perspective: technical assistance, personal support and individual and group challenges that are essential to achieve the objectives.

Pre-Masters Bootcamps

The student will have the opportunity to take 3 Pre-Master Bootcamps that will open progressively. Once the course has been successfully completed, the student will receive a certificate of completion.

- Bootcamp 1. Personal Branding

Introductory Workshop | Campus Training

Before the start of the academic year, students will have the opportunity to attend an introductory workshop about the Campus (i.e., the platform that they'll be using throughout the year). In this Introductory Workship, they will be provided with the necessary tools and knowledge for the correct use of the Campus.

Professional Development Program (PDP)

Two weeks before the start of the academic year, students will be able to participate in a professional development program, where they will work hand in hand with a teacher to learn and strenghten skills as important as time management, productivity, stress management and emotional intelligence. Upon completion of the workshop, and provided that the student has successfully carried out the relevant activities, he/she will obtain a certificate.

For the Master's Thesis, students must work on a project related to the Strategic Management of Operations and Innovation. It's a fundamental element for the development of the programme, since its main purpose is to help the student apply and reinforce the knowledge acquired during the program in a practical and dynamic way.

Students will work in groups and apply to a real case all the lessons learned throughout the program. The project could either be an innovative solution or improvement that provides clarification to contrasted problems, but always with a strategic and innovative approach.

Professor: Ignasi Estruch, Growth and Innovation Leader in Acció program.

The Master in Strategic Operations Management and Innovation is complemented by conferences and seminars that are given in each of the blocks. These additional activities are carried out by renowned professionals in business management who, through videoconferences, present their experiences and practical cases.

Bootcamp: The last mile. The challenge of future supply chains

This bootcamp will allow students to delve into one of the most important, delicate and costly processes in the supply chain, which is also the only physical point of contact with e-commerce companies and an essential part of the user experience.

Professor: Tom Van der Heyden, Co-Founder and CEO at S3 Group.

Bootcamp: Agile, Transformation and Value

This bootcamp will allow participants to understand the basics of Agile Methods and experiment with some techniques that will help them generate value in supply chains and their organizations. Some examples would be: SCRUM for teams to structure and manage their work through a set of values, principles, and practices— or KANBAN a framework that relies on visual tasks to manage workflows

Professor: Albert Valero Duch, Founder of SUCCESS MIND, SCRUM Master & Agile Leadership Coach, expert in OKRS and Kanban and author of different books on communication and leadership.

Course: Preparation for Scrum.Inc. Certifications

Once the programme is completed, students will have the opportunity to enroll in a preparatory course for the Scrum Master, Scrum Product Owner and Scrum@Scale Practitioner certifications of the Agile Education program offered along with Scrum Inc. and BK® Consulting. Costs associated with the course are not included.

Company visits

During the development of the program, students will have the opportunity to attend synchronous videoconferences with experts who will share their experience and provide advice on the best practices in the sector.

Most of the training is done asynchronously, which means that the exchange of knowledge is done through a platform that allows sharing written texts without the need for people to be connected at the same time.

Additionally, in each of the modules, synchronous sessions or 'webinars' are organized. In said webinars, all participants are connected at the same time through an application, which allows the exchange of knowledge in 'real time'.

The Master in Strategic Operations and Innovation Management helps students prepare for the following certifications:

- ICN Business IT Certification
- Scrum Certification (Product Owner & Scrum Master)

*The cost of the certifications and the preparatory course are not included in the price of the program.
